About

Jacob is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he majored in Statistics and Behavioral Economics.

Jacob has always excelled at standardized tests. When he was in high school, he scored 2300 on the SAT and received 5’s on the AP tests for Calculus BC, English Language and Composition, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Government and Politics. He was also a National Merit Finalist and received a silver medal in the Academic Decathlon in Math.

As an undergraduate at Carnegie Melon, he got his first teaching experience when he worked as a writing tutor at the university’s Global Communication Center. After graduating, Jacob worked for the Behavior Change for Good Institution, helping to publish research in high-impact journals. Then he traveled to South America, where he’s resided for the last several years, tutoring English and Spanish in remote communities.

As a tutor, Jacob brings humor and positivity to sessions. He takes a creative approach to solving problems, which equips his students with new tools and a new perspective on test questions. Rather than having a cookie-cutter approach, he meets each student where they are and teaches them in the way they need.
